2009 Dates On June 06, 1944 military personnel from the Allied Nations stormed ashore in the greatest air/sea armada in the history of the world. These landings, on the beaches of Normandy, were to become known, for all time as…"D-Day". Thus began the liberation of Europe.
In June & September 2009, we will embark on tours that will follow the route taken by so many of these gallant soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines in their quest to destroy the Nazi tyranny that had occupied the nations of Europe for four dreadful years. During these tours you’ll visit many WWII sites familiar to anyone with an interest in history: London, Portsmouth, Cherbourg, the Normandy Beaches, Ste. Mere Eglise, Pointe du Hoc, Pegasus Bridge, Paris, Reims, Bastogne, St. Vith, Malmedy, Remagen, Nuremberg, the Nazi Rally Fields, Munich, Dachau, Berchtesgaden, and the Hoffbrauhaus. We’ll also visit sites involved in the cataclysmic events of the First World War , the "clearing in the forest" at Compiegne and the battlefield and cemetery at Belleau Wood. On these remarkable tours you’ll have the opportunity to actually stand at the places where history occurred: from the terrifying blitz over London, to the joyous liberation of Paris, from "bloody" Omaha Beach to Bastogne and Germany’s last offensive, the "Battle of the Bulge". We’ll stand on the site where Germany signed the armistice in WWI and where Hitler humiliated the French by insisting on signing the Occupation Order at the same location. We’ll then cross the Rhine near Remagen, where the towers of the famous bridge still stand. Then on to Munich and in the nearby town of Dachau we’ll walk through the very first of the concentration camps …a place that was to establish the procedures for the unspeakable horrors that were to follow at so many other sites throughout Europe. You’ll visit Hitler’s private retreat at Berchtesgaden and the famous "Eagles Nest". We’ll stand in the same courtroom in the Palace of Justice in Nuremberg where the Nazi leaders were ultimately tried for their "crimes against humanity" after the collapse of the evil regime. We’ll visit the building where the infamous Munich Pact was signed. Our amazing tour will end in the Hofbrauhaus, visiting the same rooms where the "infant" Nazi Party first held some of their earliest meetings. This "WWII Remembrance Tour" will
provide you with a profound understanding and lasting experience regarding the Second World War! Please review this brochure for all the details. Because of the places we will be visiting and the events we have planned we are strictly limited to one motor coach. This
tour will quickly fill up…don’t be disappointed. If you or someone you know would like to join us on this memorable event, don’t delay, please contact us immediately! |
